Configuring Mail Clients

To use an account in the Broker mode, it is necessary to properly configure that account in your mail client. The following account properties are to be set: address of the mail server for incoming messages (POP3 Server) and login name used to access a mail server.

Mail Server Address

Enter here address of the computer where AEP is installed. If AEP and the mail client are installed on the same computer, you can use localhost or 127.0.0.1 as mail server address.

Login Name

Login name is to be set as follows:

   Login name for connection to an external mail server/address of an external mail server

For example, for john@mail.yahoo.com login name will be john/pop.mail.yahoo.com

Address and login name for connection to an external mail server must be the same as login name and mail server address specified in the respective AEP account. If external mail server address is set in a form of IP address, it must be set in a form of IP address in the mail server settings as well.

Mail server setting examples are given for the server pop.mail.yahoo.com with the login name john used to connect to it.
